What is your journey?

  1. You have been in accident, have suffered injuries and decided to make a claim.
  2. You are unrepresented and claiming through the Official Injury Claims Portal (OIC).
  3. Your claim is provided to relevant compensator and you must now obtain a medical report.
  4. You have chosen Premier Medical as your medical agency, and you are now in safe hands. 
  5. Our role is to arrange an independent medical report which you can present to the compensator.
  6. Your report will contain all the relevant information for you to achieve a settlement.

What is your road to recovery?

  1. We receive your details via the OIC. Within 24 hours we contact you to gain consent and to arrange an appointment. 
  2. All details for your appointment can be found on our portal, Your Medical.
  3. If required you can reschedule your appointment or change the location.
  4. You may be asked for further information ahead of your appointment via our pre medical questionnaire on Your Medical.
  5. Arrive to your appointment 5 minutes in advance, with suitable ID, in suitable clothing for movement. 
  6. We will receive your report which we will quality assess and upload onto the OIC portal for you to review.

What can you expect from us?

  1. Average travel distance of 12 miles to your appointment.
  2. A 4-7 week turnaround from sending us instructions, and receiving your report.
  3. Industry leading standards of clinical governance. All our doctors are fully qualified with a licence to practice and accredited by MedCo to prepare medical reports for the courts .
  4. The Doctor is independent with a duty to the court. Their focus is to offer a prognosis and the impact of your injury on your life.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Who will pay for my medical report? 

    • This will be paid by the compensator and will not affect you. 
  2. Can I have a video appointment? 

    • With the current pandemic, MedCo permit the use of video consultations, but you will need to give us your consent. For more detail download our Guide To Your Medico-Legal Case
  3. How has my expert been chosen for me? 

    • All our experts are consistently vetted and checked to ensure they adhere to all relevant legislation, regulation and statutes. 
    • We pick your expert based on convenience to your location and any specific requests made.
  4. What if I disagree with the content of my medical report?

    • You will have the opportunity to feedback any factual errors in the report via the OIC portal. The doctor will review your feedback and determine whether to amend the report on matters of fact but is unlikely to amend on matters of medical opinion (see OIC guidance).
  5. What do I do if I have special requirements? 

  6. Can there be delays to turnarounds? 

    • It is unlikely but it does happen. In the rare case that we will require your medical records there will be delays. More detail can be found in our Guide To Your Medico-Legal Case
  7. What is the Your Medical portal? 

    • Without contacting us, Your Medical can manage from your phone or computer the following:
      • Change your appointments
      • Complete your pre-medical questionnaire
      • Allow access to your medical records
      • Update us about any treatments
      • Find answers to your questions
  8. What is the Official Injury Claims Portal?

    • All claims with a value of under £5000 must be logged onto the Official Injury Claims Portal (OIC). Once your claim is agreed by the compensator (insurer) you can obtain medical evidence of the injuries you have suffered.
